SHARPE 2024 ANNOUNCES THE SECOND WAVE OF ARTISTS

As the year 2023 comes to a close, the anticipation grows for the upcoming sixth edition of the showcase festival and conference, SHARPE 2024. The festival’s diverse lineup now includes artists from Ireland, Lebanon, Poland, the Czech Republic, and exciting discoveries from the local scene.

The newly revealed artists in the lineup showcase a dominance of electronic and alternative folk fusions, each with a compelling story to share. Mayssa Jallad, a musician and architect from Lebanon, crafts indie folk that captures the historical events of the Lebanese civil war. Her sonic journey through the city of Beirut contributes to a meaningful dialogue about civil peace and historical understanding.

Hailing from Dublin, the electro-noise quartet YARD promises an intense sensory experience, skillfully bridging the gap between techno and noise-rock.

The confirmed Polish duo Wczasy brings an energetic blend of disco, electronica, and folk that humorously tames the harsh realities of life.

From the Czech Republic, Ida The Young presents a delightful fusion of indie and folk, characterized by personal expression and captivating lyrics accompanied by acoustic guitar.

Zaffer 9, a dark and gentle project, transcends borders between the Czech Republic and Slovakia, offering a unique combination of witch house, hyperpop, glitchcore, and techno.

Performing on the home stage, the authentic duo East Side Sorry combines club electronics with noise melodies, creating eclectic pop. They are critical of the world around them and ironic towards themselves. The duo draws inspiration from imperfections of the Eastern Bloc aesthetics. Their music reflects a perspective on the fate of a country that offers (self) pity instead of a story.

Dominik Prok will showcase his solo project, featuring songwriting folk that serves as Slovakia’s response to the rich tradition of American and British songwriting. Proky’s album carries a glimmer of hope within a self-created dystopia.

For enthusiasts of unconventional blends, SLOWLICK is a standout, seamlessly mixing blues, rock, pop, indie, and psychedelic harmonies that seamlessly transition into dance beats.

Stay tuned for more announcements. SHARPE 2024 will host over 60 acts on 7 stages and numerous discussion panels with music industry professionals.

SHARPE 2024 – 25.–27. 4. 2024, Nová Cvernovka–Bratislava, Slovakia
