SHARPE 2026 ANNOUNCES FIRST WAVE OF ARTISTS AFTER RECORD INTEREST IN OPEN CALL
The SHARPE music festival and conference enters its eighth edition with exceptional interest from artists around the world. The open call for SHARPE 2026 received nearly 1,000 applications from 64 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania.
This marks the strongest response in recent years, underlining both the accessibility of music-making today and the ongoing need for live performance, connection, and international exchange.
The first wave of artists combines international highlights with standout Slovak projects. Confirmed acts include Norway’s groove-driven soul collective Sūn Byrd, Basque ambient pop songwriter Sara Zozaya, Crimean post-shoegaze producer Provulok, and the genre-blurring Faroe Islands band AGGRASOPPAR.
From the local scene, SHARPE will present the avant-garde ensemble Drť, alternative guitar artist Mishino, sound artist Richard Hronský, and the jazz-oriented Samo Benko Orchestra.
More names and conference details will follow in the coming months. SHARPE 2026 takes place on April 24–25 at Nová Cvernovka in Bratislava, offering a compact yet intense celebration of new music and cross-border collaboration.
