SHARPE 2024 RHYTMICALLY KNOCKS ON THE DOOR!
Over the next three days, visitors of the SHARPE 2024 will be able to enjoy over 60 musical performances, 10 conference panels, 2 workshops, 3 speed meetings, 3 receptions, and endless networking opportunities across 7 stages.
The event kicks off with a special performance by the Spanish duo Dame Area on Thursday evening, followed by Angry Blackmen from Chicago. The festival continues into Friday and Saturday, with music programs running until 4 in the morning.
The conference segment will focus on topics such as inclusivity at cultural events, eco-friendly alternatives in festival gastronomy, and the role of artists and cultural workers in the current socio-political context. Discussions will also cover the rising costs of headlining performances and the importance of creating safe spaces at music events.
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to meet leading figures from the music scene and cultural festivals, including the legend of independent radio KEXP, Kevin Cole, and Michail Stangl, also known as DJ Opium Hum.
A new addition this year is the Student Forum, offering education on copyright and digital campaigns. Organizations SoundCzech, Music Export Poland, and German Music Export will also have the chance to showcase their broad activities and shine a light on their local music scene.
The festival is made possible thanks to the support of various organizations, including the Arts Support Fund, the City of Bratislava, the Bratislava Cultural and Information Center, the SPP Foundation, Creative Europe Desk, LIVE Europe, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Polish Institute, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bratislava, the Goethe Institute, and Nová Cvernovka. One day tickets are for purchase at the venue. Cash payment only. Children under the age of 15 are free of charge and don’t need payed tickets.
