“Warm earth music for plants… and the people who love them.” That’s Plantasia, a project initiated by the Pohoda Festival in 2023, when it was presented as part of the festival’s Sunrise Ceremony, quickly becoming one of the most memorable moments for many attendees.

The music is based on Mort Garson’s iconic 1976 album Mother Earth’s Plantasia, which features ten tracks. Upon its original release, the album had a very limited distribution—only those who purchased a plant or a mattress at selected stores received a copy. Today, Plantasia has become a cult classic and was reissued in 2019.

Kristína Smetanová and Haimoni Balgavá transcribed the entire album into a score for four keyboardists playing synthesizers. The other band members include Peter Kunzo and Martin Majlo Štefánik. The album intendes to have a positive effect on flora. Embracing this idea, Kristína with the crew expanded the original album with an additional composition, “See You Soon Sunflower.”

In 2024, they began a collaboration with the French instrument manufacturer Arturia, resulting in live videos recorded at the Plantizia flower shop. The Plantasia project is performed by four professional musicians.

Definitely come experience these joyous tunes at SHARPE 2025!
