East Side Sorry. Yes, you’ve read it right. No West or Story, just the East Side Sorry. Mišo Kvetko (electronics, vocals) and Verona Němcová (vocals) stand behind this unique band duo with a cunning name. They blend club electronics with noise tunes, crafting subversive, eclectic pop on the border of genre categorization.
Perceptive and observant of the society they live in, they are critical of the world around them and ironic towards themselves. The primary source of their inspiration is the perceived and present imperfection of Eastern Bloc aesthetics. Mišo and Verona express the narrative of life in a country that offers (self)pity instead of a story.
Although the concert appearances of East Side Sorry are still countable on the fingers of two hands, they have already reached the double-digit mark and show no signs of stopping. From performances at the Bratislava Design Week award ceremony to supporting renowned Slovak singer and composer Katarína Máliková, and being included in the lineup by an expert jury in the Garage project – a joint venture of the Pohoda Festival and the city of Trenčín, the European Capital of Culture for 2026. Experience an inspiring confrontation with the music creations of this duo at SHARPE 2024!
