Jozef Pecho
(climatologist, SK)

Jozef Pecho (*1981) graduated in Physical Geography and Geoecology from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Comenius University in Bratislava, where he specialized in meteorology and climatology. From 2005 to 2011, and again since 2016, he has worked as a climatologist and climate scientist at the Department of Climatological Services of the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute in Bratislava. Between 2011 and 2016, he was a research associate at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. His scientific work focuses on statistical modeling of extreme precipitation (and weather extremes in general), the study of climate variability and climate change, as well as the assessment of its regional impacts, particularly in the territory of Slovakia. Recently, he has devoted considerable attention to climate modeling using global and regional climate models. He is also actively engaged in the popularization of meteorology and climatology.
