MORE TO THE LINEUP! NEW LOCAL PROJECTS & INNOVATIVE EUROPEAN MUSICIANS

As 2024 is coming to an end, SHARPE 2025 prepares for its seventh edition. The festival and conference will again host over 50 performances on seven stages, along with discussions featuring music industry professionals. This year’s lineup includes staples of the Slovak alternative scene and emerging artists from across Europe.

NORTH, EAST, SOUTH, WEST—SHARPE HAS IT COVERED WITH INTERNATIONAL ACTS

SHARPE 2025 will feature performers from Ireland, Sweden, Slovenia, and Poland. Among them will be Galway-based rapper Celaviedmai, whose music blends hip-hop, afrobeat, and dance, incorporating multilingual lyrics reflecting her Ivorian heritage. From Gothenburg, The Family Men will deliver a loud and immersive show with heavy guitar effects, energetic percussion, and unconventional stage presence. Their music defies easy classification, remaining raw and unfiltered.

Ljubljana’s post-punk/indie-rock band Lelee represents a fusion of Balkan influences. The trio’s energetic, melody-driven songs are shaped by the Yugoslav new wave of the 1980s. Warsaw-based producer Krenz will present an electronic set blending jungle, breakcore, dubstep, and hip-hop elements.

NEW PROJECTS FROM THE SLOVAK ALTERNATIVE SCENE

The Slovak alternative scene features newly emerged projects that will come to life at SHARPE 2025. DJ and musician Kristie Kardio, known from the rave scene and the band Shallov, recently launched her solo career with the song “I LOVE.” Viktor Ori, the creative force behind Shallov, will present his debut solo album LEPŠIE NEBOLO NIKDY DOBRE NEBUDE (It Was Never Better, It Will Never Be Good). Featuring Slovak lyrics for the first time in his work, the album includes collaborations with Adam Dragun (Berlin Manson), Adela Mede, and Kristie Kardio.

Alten Kompoten, led by siblings Natália and Matej, returns after a long hiatus. As children, they recorded three experimental albums that gained the attention of the media and music critics. They were even featured in a candy commercial for Hašlerky! Now, Matej has reformed the band with new members and will perform at SHARPE for the first time. Music for Plants and Those Who Love Them. – The project Plantasia will present music based on Mort Garson’s Mother Earth’s Plantasia (1976), a cult electronic album originally given away with plant and mattress purchases. Kristína Smetanová and Haimoni Balgavá arranged the album for a quartet of synthesizers and will perform it live alongside Peter Kunzo and Martin Majlo Štefánik.

PLATFORM FOR CULTURAL ENJOYMENT AND EDUCATION

Sharpe is also as a platform for education and collaboration. Longterm supporting the international exchange of independent artists’ music.  The 2025 edition will unite artists and speakers from diverse backgrounds, fostering dialogue and innovation in music industry.
