Zbrucz is a four-piece screamo band from the outskirts of Maribor. The lineup consists of vocalist Alex Češek, guitarist Denys Hornosum, bassist Kristijan Matjašič, and drummer Urban Saletinger. The ensemble truly launched itself into the world in 2024 with the release of their EP Riparia riparia. Since then, they’ve played numerous shows both at home and abroad and are especially proud of their mini-tour with the band Mališa Bahat, their performance at the Italian screamo festival Third Impact, and this year’s edition of the MENT festival.
Their shows are known for soothing bruised hearts and for their cathartic energy, while their musical expression blends elements of late-90s and early-2000s emo/screamo with occasional bursts of emoviolence and post-metal. Lyrically, they explore themes of frustration, abandonment, and self-reflection, intertwining the Slovenian and English languages.
