Moving between jazz, contemporary composition, and orchestral work, Hania Derej is a Polish composer, pianist, and conductor. Currently studying jazz composition in Amsterdam and symphonic conducting in Kraków, she has already built an extensive catalogue of over 150 compositions spanning chamber, electronic, and illustrative music.

Her work is defined by strong melodic sensitivity and emotional depth, and has been recorded across multiple releases, including sessions for Polish Radio. As a conductor, she has led ensembles such as the National Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Moravian Philharmonic, and Lviv Chamber Orchestra.

Hania has received numerous distinctions, including the Double Grand Prix at the Ladies’ Jazz Festival (2025), the “New Hope” title in the Jazz Forum critics’ poll, and recognition in Poland’s “Sanki” awards. Alongside her artistic work, she is active in international collaborations and music platforms across Europe.
