A series of delicate soundscapes slowly unfolds, and above them a voice drifts — fragile, steady, and deeply human. This is the world of Sara Zozaya, one of the most distinctive new voices emerging from the Basque music scene.
Her latest EP, attä, marks both a personal and artistic threshold: an emotional refuge built from intimate memories, close friendships, and quiet transformations. Minimalist yet immersive, the record moves between dark ambient, bedroom pop, and subtle electronica, balancing curiosity with nostalgia, sorrow with light. Produced alongside Ke Lepo and released by the Catalan label Aloud Music, attä reveals a more vulnerable and exploratory side of Zozaya, drawing comparisons to artists such as Julianna Barwick, Ethel Cain, and Elena Setien.
Active since her teens, she has experimented with lo-fi textures, pop songwriting, and Basque musical traditions, earning early recognition and performing at festivals including Primavera Sound and Eufònic. Now performing solo with live visuals by Itziar Garaluce, Zozaya creates concerts that feel intimate and transportive. At the center of it all remains her voice — gentle, searching, and unmistakably her own.
